Essential Oil of Peppermint

15 ml (0.5 ounce)

I love peppermint essential oil. Have you ever really wondered about the difference between peppermint 3rd and peppermint natural essential oils? One of the most interesting aromatherapy classes I’ve taken over the years was Chemistry of Essential Oils taught by Dr. Rob Pappas. In that class he taught that isovaleraldehyde is the component of peppermint that is distilled off in the manufacturing of peppermint 3rd essential oil. The fascinating part is that isovaleraldehyde is a scent component of vomit and blue cheese as well. Now that you know this, take the time to smell the difference between peppermint 3rd and peppermint natural and see if you can pick up the faint scent component difference. At Ology Essentials we can smell the difference so we carry 3rd distilled.
